Porridge: The Perfect Winter Breakfast

A steaming hot bowl of porridge is literally one of the best ways to start the day, filled with nutritious whole grains that can help boost our gut health. There are many ways to savour it, along with a few precious minutes in the morning. Here are some of our flavour-ites:

Wake up wonderfully with raspberries and toasted hazelnuts. Pop the porridge sachet contents and milk into the microwave for 45 seconds, take out and stir well, then add the raspberries. Microwave for another 45 seconds and finish by topping with the hazelnuts. Easy!

Our Super Berry & Coconut flavour is porridge perfection with a sprinkle of dried cranberries, pepitas and sunflower seeds – a yummy brekky that will have you out the door in minutes.

Caramelised banana is never a bad idea (and neither is the extra fibre!) Slice the bananas, pop them in the pan with a little honey or maple syrup, a dash of cinnamon and watch the magic happen. Place the bananas on cooked porridge, sprinkle on some linseeds and top with flaked almonds for an irresistible crunch.

Get a little fruity… take inspiration from Smoothie Bowls and make an Insta-friendly breakfast by layering your porridge with fresh and cooked fruits, creamy coconut yoghurt and your favourite nuts and seeds.

Cook your favourite berries – we’ve used black and blue – on the stove, until they soften and some liquid forms. Pour on the porridge and enjoy. For the “cheat version”, simply top the porridge with a few spoons of your favourite jam.
