Carolyn’s Inspirational Reading List

Carolyn is a big fan of reading. Huge, in fact.

Here, she shares the best inspirational books she’s read lately and why you’ll enjoy them, too:

Elon Musk : How the Billionaire CEO of SpaceX and Tesla is Shaping our Future by Ashlee Vance

I totally loved this book and I’m now pining to own a Tesla! Elon’s vision of what could be possible, his drive to make it happen and his inability to accept the status quo is remarkable. It’s a riveting read I have recommended to many.

The Course of Love by Alain de Botton

This book is an incredible journey of one couples’ relationship, but it relates to us all. It takes you from the exciting first date to the first trip to Ikea (which is hysterical). We slowly realise through the journey that love is in essence a skill we need to learn rather than an enthusiasm we simply experience. A great read.

Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons and World-Class Performers by Tim Ferriss

This is a huge book that I couldn’t put down – essentially interviews about fascinating people, focused on their daily routines and top tips. It’s extremely readable and really smart. I read it with a highlighter and this summer’s job is to go back and make a to do list from all the tips I learnt.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organising by Marie Kondo

This tiny little book really changed the way I view my things. Marie teaches you to decide if something sparks joy in your life and if not, off to the op shop it goes. I gave away many bags after finishing it and its lessons have certainly stuck with me.
